Dance Theatre of the Gospel

DTG Company members have the opportunity to learn and experience dance in its original intended purpose:  to glorify God.  This company is a volunteer company. Dancers will receive free intensive training in August, prior to the season beginning in September.  The season is from September through June. Dancers will be asked to pay a monthly performance due of $20 which will cover the costs of costumes, and all concert season expenses. The expectations to be a part of this company are the following:

• Attend rehearsal Tuesday and Thursday from 7pm-9pm
• Keep a dance journal
• Study dance and worship workbook and study guide
• Minister at season dance concerts, February thru June.
• Must attend at least one (1) professional dance concert in the Bay Area.
• Minister at monthly local engagements.
• Audition Required

Audition Requirements:
Dance Theatre of the Gospel (DTG) has open auditions for DTG. Please write or call to schedule an audition which will be held every Tuesday in July, 2006 (place TBA) from 7pm-9pm. You must be 18 years or older to apply.  Auditionees should have recent dance experience in ballet, modern, jazz, and/or dance movement styles from the African Diaspora.  Be prepared to perform a dance solo, no longer than 3 minutes as well as possibly rehearse with the company for 1 hour.  In order to be selected, you are required to take a 4 week course for two hours every Tuesday beginning August 1 – August 22, 7pm-9pm, and an intensive 4 hour dance training course on Sundays beginning August 6-20, 3pm-6pm.  Following the August sessions dancers will be notified by letter of possible company placement.
