"Write the vision and make it plain."

The mission of Dance Theatre of the Gospel is to create inspirational dance productions that reflect real life experiences through kinesthetic storytelling.  This energetic and colorful company strives to teach history, concepts, and culture.  This diverse group of dancers blend together as anointed instruments for dance expression.   This expression reflects on spiritual journeys, healing, enlightenment, and the pursuit of freedom, while also encouraging it's audience to grow stronger mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
 
 
 

 

 

The vision of Dance Theatre of the Gospel was birthed in 2000 by dancer/choreographer Mrs. Jetaun DeArman Maxwell.  Maxwell envisioned a dance troupe that would bring change and healing to individual lives.  Maxwell also attests to the value of portraying life experiences through the blending of dance techniques such as ballet and modern dance with other international dance forms.  The dramatic and positive effect of each blended piece maintains a uniquenes while bringing about an impacting presentation of life, struggle, and love.
